Malaysia is an interesting country made up of many different cultures. The landscapes vary greatly from the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Georgetown to the hilly Cameron Highlands where visitors can even enjoy a strawberry and fresh scone. The country has a rich heritage which can be learned from historical sights such as Fort Cornwallis and The National Museum in Kuala Lumpur.

Partly on the Malay Peninsula south of Thailand and on the northern one-third of the island of Borneo, bordering Indonesia and Brunei. The capital Kuala Lumpur is in the south of the country.

Is Malaysia Expensive?

Overall no, Malaysia is a relatively cheap country to travel. It is more expensive than other countries in SEA however. The priciest parts are accommodation and alcohol as they both have high taxes, prices in the capital are inflated too. Still it is easy to find affordable accommodation, food and activities.

Malaysia is an extremely safe country to visit. There are low crime rates and the geography is not likely to be dangerous. Always take caution when travelling and keep up to date with any news via your government’s website.

Malaysia is known for its friendly community and a melting pot of Asia’s well-diverse community including Malay people, Chinese plus Indian. Malaysia’s diversity in culture makes Malaysia a food haven with a melting pot of dishes. The futuristic capital of Kuala Lumpur also attracts thousands a year for shopping and the iconic Petronas Twin Towers.
