Laos is a lesser-visited landlocked country filled with Temples and Ancient history and customs. The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Luang Prabang sits on the Mekong River and is famous for its’ French Colonial Architecture. It is the biggest consumer of sticky rice in the world and the food is historic and delicious. Visitors of this country will be swept away by its humble charm.

Laos is a landlocked country of northeast-central mainland Southeast Asia. The neighbouring countries include China, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar. The capital; Vientiane, is in the South of the country.

Laos is the cheapest country in all of South East Asia and the average cost of daily living is incredibly low. There are cheap options for accommodation, food and activities and some great markets with some of the cheapest buys.

Laos is a safe country but there are some instances of petty crime such as theft and pickpocketing in certain areas. There are low crime rates and the geography is not likely to be dangerous. Always take caution when travelling and keep up to date with any news via your government’s website.

Laos is not very well known around the world and this is such a shame. It boasts amazing scenery, ethnic villages, spectacular Buddhist Temples and the small UNESCO World Heritage Site of Luang Prabang. It has the best waterfall in all of SEA: Kuang Xi Waterfall which is well worth a visit.
